BSP’s Captive Equity strategies provide investors with access to equity and select mezzanine positions in BSP-managed CLOs across the U.S. and Europe, in separate regionally focused vehicles.
The strategies are designed to address the sourcing, structuring, and regulatory complexities that often limit direct investor access to CLO equity, while seeking to capture the potential for high cash yield and attractive long-term total return. By combining control or lead positions in CLO equity, disciplined portfolio construction, and alignment with regulatory risk-retention frameworks where applicable, the platform aims to offer institutional investors an efficient way to gain exposure to CLO equity within a controlled, research-driven environment that leverages BSP’s experience as a large, established CLO manager.
Captive Equity - Strategies
BSP’s U.S. Captive Equity strategy provides investors with access to equity tranches of BSP-managed U.S. CLOs, focusing on control positions in warehouses, new issue equity, and selected mezzanine tranches on preferred terms. The strategy is intended for investors seeking direct, scalable access to the cash-flow profile and attractive long-term return potential of U.S. CLO equity.
BSP’s European Captive Equity strategy invests primarily in BSP-managed European CLO warehouses, new issue equity, and mezzanine tranches on preferred terms, with the ability to invest selectively in third-party CLO mezzanine tranches. The strategy is designed to solve investors’ need for direct, scalable access to European CLO equity and mezzanine exposure while meeting regulatory risk-retention requirements and maintaining alignment between BSP and its investors.
